Architects play an important role in the design and construction of Victoria's built environment – the houses, schools, office buildings and commercial premises we live, work and study in.

Working with an architect to take a building from idea to reality is an exciting process – but it can be complex. Make sure you understand the process and the architect's role.

Search the ARBV Register of Architects in Victoria to check if an individual architect is registered, and if a company or partnership is approved.

If an architect does not meet the required professional standard of conduct, they may be subject to disciplinary action.
