Renewal of registration or approval

Renewal of registration or approval

Renewal of registration is due by 30 June of each year. Renewal requirements include payment of renewal fees and providing the ARBV with proof of required professional indemnity insurance coverage until 30 June the following year.

In addition, architects must also provide the ARBV with proof of compliance with continuing professional development requirements and a declaration that they are a fit and proper person to continue practising as an architect.

Late renewal

If you do not complete your renewal requirements by 30 June, you will automatically be subject to a late fee.

This fee will need to be paid in addition to renewal fees.

If you do not complete renewal before 31 July, you will be removed from the Register.

Removal from the Register means that you can no longer call yourself an architect, allow others to do so, or cause people to believe you are an architect.

You also cannot say that that you offer 'architectural services,' 'architectural design services' or 'architectural design'. If you do, you may be prosecuted.

Reinstatement to the Register

You can request to be reinstated to the Register. For example, if you were removed from the Register for not completing renewal, you will need to complete a reinstatement application which will include completing statutory renewal requirements. A reinstatement fee will be payable.

To apply to reinstate your registration, log in to the ARBV Portal and select the option on your dashboard.
