Freedom of Information (FOI) refers to the public right to access information held by government.
Requesting access to documents under the Victorian Freedom of Information Act 1982 must be in writing. They may be sent by email to registrar@arbv.vic.gov.au (please include ‘FOI request’ in the subject line) or by post to:
Architects Registration Board of Victoria
Level 7, 372 Albert Street
East Melbourne VIC 3002
There is no prescribed application form. If you are making a request on behalf of another party, please include written authorisation from them to show that you have their permission to obtain the requested information.
Please clearly describe the documents to which you seek access and include payment of the statutory application fee or evidence that you qualify to have the application fee waived.
From 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020, the statutory application fee for lodging an FOI request is $29.60. Payment can be made by cheque or credit card (please contact the Board for details).
When the Board receives a valid request, it is required to provide a decision no later than 30 days after receiving the request. In some cases, this time may be extended. Additional access charges may also apply.
