Pathways to registration with the ARBV

Depending on your experience, there are 3 different pathways to registration as an architect in Victoria.

To work as an architect in Victoria, the Architects Act 1991 requires you to be registered with the ARBV. Even if you are registered as an architect in another part of Australia or in another country, you still need to register as an architect in Victoria.

Student and Graduate resource

Understanding the registration process and post registration requirements for architects is complicated, and there are several sources of relevant information that must be consulted.

The ARBV has developed a guide to assist both students and candidates for registration to better navigate the registration process to becoming an architect in Victoria. This guide aims to provide a summary of available sources of information and clearly define the purpose of the ARBV, outline the registration process and an architect’s post registration requirements.
